Solar Engineer
Spartan Superway
Overview
As the Engineering Lead for Spartan Superway’s pioneering Elevated Solar Powered Installation for an Automated Transit Network, I played a pivotal role in steering the project towards innovative solutions. Collaborating with elite engineers from global hubs like France, South Korea, and Brazil, our team worked on the design of proprietary podcars. My contributions extended to transit network power consumption analysis and devising strategies for ensuring uninterrupted power to the podcars around the clock, utilizing a combination of photovoltaics and grid energy.
My efforts culminated in the publication and presentation of the paper titled “Solar Installation for Automated Transit Network” at the esteemed American Solar Energy Society (ASES) conference in San Francisco. In recognition of my expertise and contributions, I was honored to be the sole student presenter at the Podcar City and Advanced Transit Conference in Antwerp, Belgium. Furthermore, I represented the student community in a live webinar with the United States Department of Transportation (DOT).
My engineering endeavors also spanned the design of automated solar racking and cleaning solutions, enhanced by graphical simulations to visualize these mechanisms. In the quest for the optimal energy solution, I utilized the System Advisor Model (SAM) software to determine the most efficient photovoltaic design for our project.
